Costas to host NBC NFL show in 2006

NBC will formally announce on Tuesday that Bob Costas will host its Sunday night NFL studio show when the network begins airing Sunday night games in 2006.
The move was first reported by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. - NFL Football -
Costas, whose NBC duties include hosting Olympic coverage, also will get a contract extension at least through NBC's coverage of the 2012 Summer Games.
Also, Fox said Monday that it has signed NFL game analyst Troy Aikman through the 2011 season. - NFL Football -
Aikman has worked in a three-man TV booth with Joe Buck and Cris Collinsworth on Fox's top NFL games. - NFL Football -
But Collinsworth is joining NBC in 2006 and not working for Fox this season, so Aikman will become Fox's top analyst as he works a two-man booth with Buck. Collinsworth already works with Costas on HBO's Inside the NFL. - NFL Football -
NBC hired John Madden last month to be its game analyst for Sunday night games. Madden has another season of Monday Night Football on ABC, whose current NFL deal ends with the Super Bowl as ESPN inherits Monday games. - NFL Football -
